Summer News 2013
It's been a very eventful year so far, I've gained a lot of strength which is just as well as I learnt yesterday that I have to start another six months chemotherapy at the end of July. The spring New Orleans and Heritage Jazz Festival was as fantastic as ever. The weather wasn't very good but the pictures and sounds made up for it. As you can see I took a lot of photos http://www.davidredfern.com/tags/new-orleans-jazz-fest-2013/ and it was my 37th year.
The European Jazz Festival season kicks off for me with Jazz a Vienne on Saturday 24th to the 13th July. Followed by Jazz A Juan – July 16th to July 20th. A first for me San Sebastian in Spain, 24th – 28th July.
Its been a frantic few weeks not least because we were preparing some special pictures for an exhibition at The Audio Lounge, a brand new pure listening sound concept in London's Wigmore Street. This runs until July 13 with an on going presence there. They are also selling Suzy's fantastic cushions with my Images on them. http://www.davidredfern.com/tourdates
Future plans include a talk to the Transport For London medical team at the end of August and an exhibition at the Southbank during the London Jazz Festival.
On a personal note Suzy and I got married last month (and it couldn't happen to a nicer couple) ;-) at the Chelsea Old Town Hall followed by lunch at the Chelsea Arts Club. So there's no stopping me yet, and then we have our belated honeymoon in St. Lucia at Christmas.
I'm still working on my latest book titled "The Unclosed Story" which is autobiographical telling it like it really was, warts and all.
Last month we lost one of the great Blues singers Bobby 'Blue' Bland, life is of its very nature very fragile, memories on the other hand are not, enjoy the sounds and visions to the full while you can.
