Winter News 2012
The end of another year is nigh; one that I am personally glad is nearly over. But the good news is that I've survived it very well, the hospital have now put me on a three month watch, no more chemo, I've got my appetite and taste buds back, I'm gaining weight, walking lots and have just about got to my former energy. So onwards and upwards.
I'd like to thank Doc Sharma and all at the Hammersmith Hospital for looking after me so well and seeing me through what I can honestly say has been the most difficult year of my life.
Fortunately my treatment ended in time for me to participate fully in the London Jazz Festival, many of the results can be seen on my site http://www.davidredfern.com/tags/london-jazz-festival-2012/ Suzy was asked to produce some T-shirts using my images for the event, This proved very successful, they can now be ordered online from her site http://www.suzyreed.com/shop/tees/
Our showroom continues to attract and excite some very interesting clients and
we have a new deal with 'Don't talk to me about heroes' using my images. This has also sparked a new interest in my
vintage non-music pictures, which I own outright. I'm of course continuing my very close association with Ronnie Scott's club. We have slowly started to replace some of the now less appropriate images in the main room with new up-to-date pictures that I've taken recently in the club. What's in store for 2013? WellI can say more travel for business and pleasure, the usual festivals and some new ones; and I'm planning an exhibition at the Southbank during next years London Jazz Festival (more later). I'm very grateful for all the support I have received in the last 12 months, from family and friends alike, it really does make a terrific difference, and is very heart-warming. Topof the list of course is Suzy who has been there for me unfailingly. We're off to France for the holidays for a well earned rest, mulled wine in front of our wood burning stove what could be better? I'm attaching a couple of nostalgic pages from a recent /Times Magazine/ – fondmemories for me. And now I'm looking forward to all the challenges that 2013 will bring. Where ever you are: have a great holiday, and keep the faith. David
